The Long Island Teacher was started
by a group of teachers that found it difficult to attend traditional
site based classes because of busy and unpredictable schedules.
All of our classes follow an online format and can be accessed anywhere
there is an internet connection. You don't even need to be at your
own computer! NO PRIOR INTERNET KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED. All you need
is a computer and an internet connection. The internet is used as
a tool to fulfill course assignments whether it be watching a video,
listening to an audio presentation or following a webquest. Class
materials are always available 24/7/365 to allow for maximum flexibilty.
All of our classes:
- are 100% online so you can complete work at your
convenience. Since there are no set class schedules, teachers
are able to complete class work according to their schedule.
- are aligned and developed with New York State
Department of Education learning standards in mind.
- develop practical and useful skills that can
be directly applied to the classroom.
- provide expert instruction from an expert instructor
who is a current or former classroom teacher/adminstrator or
expert in their field.
- provide access to a diverse community of educators
through class bulletin boards, email and blogs.
